Kirkland: Home of the Truck-Eating Bridge
A railroad crossing overpass near Kirkland Way has gained fame for tall trucks getting stuck underneath it when drivers ignore signs warning about height limitations and attempt to pass under. Local resident Angela Beegle designed a banner to capture the attention of drivers. The banner has worked to significantly reduce crashes though occasionally the bridge still gets a metal meal. Thanks to Ms. Beegle for use of artwork inspired by her drawing.
